Welcome to TheCrimeBoard.com ("the Site"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. Description of Service
The Crime Board is a platform for following, discussing, and analyzing criminal cases using publicly available information. We provide live stream aggregation, AI-powered case analysis, community chat, and curated case data including timelines, evidence, and key people.
2. Account and Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Site. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity under it.
3. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Dox or harass: Post personal information about individuals (addresses, phone numbers, workplaces) without their consent, or direct harassment at any person
- Victim-blame: Make statements that blame victims of crimes for what happened to them
- Spread misinformation: Present fabricated evidence, false witness accounts, or unverified claims as fact
- Interfere with investigations: Encourage actions that could obstruct active investigations or legal proceedings
- Abuse AI features: Use the AI Q&A to generate harmful content, attempt prompt injection, or circumvent safety guidelines
- Spam or disrupt: Send unsolicited messages, flood chat, or otherwise disrupt the experience of other users
- Violate laws: Use the Site for any purpose that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law
4. Content and Intellectual Property
Case data, timelines, analysis, and AI-generated content on the Site are compiled from publicly available sources and are provided for informational purposes only. We do not claim ownership of underlying public records or news content.
User-generated content (chat messages, AI questions) may be used by us for service improvement and moderation. By submitting content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, display, and store it.
5. AI Features Disclaimer
AI-powered features (including AI Q&A and case analysis) use artificial intelligence to summarize and analyze case data. AI responses are:
- Generated from our case database and may not include all available information
- Not legal advice and should not be treated as such
- Subject to errors and limitations inherent in AI technology
- Not a substitute for professional legal, journalistic, or investigative analysis
6. Presumption of Innocence
All individuals discussed on the Site who have been charged with crimes are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Case data presented on the Site reflects publicly available information and does not constitute a determination of guilt or innocence.
7. Live Stream Content
Live streams displayed on the Site are sourced from third-party platforms (primarily YouTube). We do not control or produce this content. The availability, accuracy, and appropriateness of third-party streams are the responsibility of their respective creators.
8. Moderation
We reserve the right to remove content, suspend accounts, or restrict access at our sole discretion, without notice, for violations of these Terms or for any reason we deem necessary to protect the community.
9. Limitation of Liability
The Site is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Site, including but not limited to: inaccurate information, service interruptions, data loss, or actions taken based on content found on the Site.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Crime Board, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Site or violation of these Terms.
